When: May 23, 2005

Time: 6:30pm - 9:00pm

Where: Ex'pression College for Digital Arts
  6601 Shellmound Street

Angelo Inanoria, XUI Chief Architect, will talk about "Rich Internet Applications (RIA): Impact on the Web Development Team" at the East Bay I.T. Group's (eBIG) monthly meeting for the Web Development Special Interest Group (SIG).

Angelo will be co-presenting with Luke Wroblewski, Lead UI Designer at eBay and Principal of LukeW Interface Designs. Together, they will speak about RIA - What is it? How is it used? How does it impact the web development team, specifically, User Interface (UI) Designers and Web Developers? When and when not to use it? What development model is appropriate for it?

They will explore views on when it is best to use RIA, when the traditional point-and-click page-by-page view is sufficient, and when a combination of both can work together to enhance user experience and improve productivity. Sample case studies will be presented using XUI. At the end of the session, the audience is expected to gain a high-level view of what RIA is, why it is fast becoming a trend, how it impacts their roles and development processes and when to use them to benefit both the web development team and the end-users.
